Poljoprivredno šumarska škola Vinkovci

Secondary School of Agriculture and Forestry celebrated European Day of Languages on the 26th of September at school, where the students of the 3rd grade (agrotechnicians) choose to learn the word "love" in different languages and make a short video. 

On the 27th we took part in a public celebration in the city centre, together with other schools from the region, where each school presented one country. Our task was to present the language and culture of the Reppublic of Bulgaria, where our students and teachers did Erasmus+ project "AgroEurope" last week. 

Some of the activities we used to show and teach our visitors Bulgarian culture and langauge were: 

- teaching the Bulgarian alphabet - poster with latin pronunciation

- reading basic Bulgarian - quiz where participants had to read a sentence in Bulgarian and guess its meaning. The prise was a bag of apple crisps made buy our students, members of the school's students' cooperative "Agro". 

- assembling photos of famous landmarks in Bulgaria in the form of jigsaw puzzles.

- presenting Bugarian food - our bakers made famous Bulgarian dishes which were free for all visitors to try - pitki, banica, pita, tutmanik

- presenting the experience of our project "AgroEurope"

- presenting famous Bulgarian souveniers - rose products, lavander etc. 

- presenting Bulgarian agriculture 

- teaching basic Bulgarian phrases and numbers 1-10

- presenting Bulgarian music and dance

We had a lot of fun, as well as our visitors, who especially liked our food.
